Take Action To Support SHRM Chapters and State Councils

    Organizations throughout our country are facing unprecedented pressure and financial stress from stay-at-home orders and the uncertainty over the COVID-19 outbreak. 

    The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) extends financial assistance to organizations through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). However, 501(c)(6) organizations like some SHRM Chapters and State Councils who have been impacted by the outbreak due to lost revenue, are currently not eligible to seek relief under the PPP.

    In response to the concerns expressed by a number of these affiliated State Councils and Chapters, SHRM is advocating for Congress to expand COVID-19 financial assistance to 501(c)(6) nonprofits in need.
